Digital justice integrates media and technology into education in order to transform teaching and learning, to value multiple learning styles and to expand the process of learning beyond the classroom and across the lifespan.
I have been reflecting today on the Detroit Digital Justice Coalition’s Principles of Digital Justice while I start to think about working with the Teen Tech Crew, a new group of youth at the museum who will teach creative technology workshops in public libraries in St. Paul. I think it’s a really exciting starting point to contextualize the work that we’ll be doing as a crew.
On a related note, St. Paul Public Libraries was chosen as one of 12 sites nationally to develop new digital media spaces for youth by the MacArthur Foundation. I’m pretty excited to get to work with St. Paul public libraries as they figure out what the future of libraries looks like.
